ARTMATCH: Connect Artists with Collectors

CONCEPT

ArtMatch is a tinder-like web application that matches artists with collectors.

FUNCTIONALITY

Random artworks with only the image/video and title will be retrieved by major marketplaces through their APIs and presented to the user in form of swipeable cards.

Swipe left to dismiss, right to like. The algorithm will assign affinity points with liked artists (whose names are hidden to avoid biases), liked tags and similar artists liked by other users. The user can directly go to the marketplace page to purchase the artwork from the liked cards.

VALUE

This app solves 2 main problems: Art Browsing and Discoverability.

The user don’t have to go through hundreds of uninteresting works to find what they like. The algorithm will learn and present them directly, while giving them suggestions to expand their interests from time to time.

Artists have the problem of being a new name or not being relevant enough. By removing the name the bias is put in second place. Only after seeing the image you can discover who the artist is when you want to go for a purchase.

ENGAGEMENT

Chat in app with artists whose artworks a user liked: help to create a meaningful connection and relationship.

Suggest an artwork: send artworks you like to a friend.

Comment artworks that you like and people unsure about the work can read why you like it.
